Hello! My name is Kris Boland and I am excited to be teaching your child Science in 8th Grade this year! This will be my fifteenth year teaching. This is my second year teaching at Greer! I spent 5 years teaching 4th Grade at Monaview Elementary and 1 year teaching 5th Grade for the GCS Virtual Academy. I spent 3 years teaching 6th grade Science and coached Girl's Basketball at Hughes Academy. I grew up in West Virginia, and moved to the Greenville area in 2007 to attend college. After graduating with my undergrad degree in Elementary Education in 2011, I began teaching a bible class for Riverside High School. That started me on an unexpected journey where I became a pastor full time. In October of 2014 I felt it was time to go back into teaching full time, and found a job with Greenville County Schools. In Spring 2016 I began a Master's program in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University and graduated in May 2017 with a Master of Science in Education: Educational Leadership degree. My wife and I live in Lyman with our three kids and two cats. She teaches kindergarten at Chandler Creek Elementary. We have a 9 yr old daughter who is in 4th Grade at Chandler Creek and oldest son will turn 3 in December!. Our youngest joined our family in May of 2025! I'm looking forward to a great year!
