My name is Kala Barnette. I have been teaching at Mountain View Elementary School for twenty two years.
I am a Reading intervention teacher. In my twenty two years at Mountain View I have taught 1st grade for four years, 2nd grade one year, 5th grade Social Studies for five years and this will be my twelth year as an Interventionist.
I love to teach and see children grow and learn. I feel so blessed to be at such a wonderful school!
I attended USC-Upstate and graduated in 2004 with a BS in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. I received my Masters Degree in 2012 through Lesley University in Integrated Teaching through the Arts. It was a wonderful experience which enabled me to learn many new and exciting teaching strategies to reach a variety of learners.
I love to spend time with my family, shop and do new and exciting things! My husband and I have been married for 21 years and we have 2 beautiful, adventurous sons who we absolutely adore.
