English 1 Honors

Course Description: This is an honors-level course for academically gifted students who have the ability to pursue an accelerated English program. These students may be preparing for Advanced Placement English (college level courses) in high school; therefore, the coursework will reflect more rigor than English I CP/CP Advanced. Note: This course carries Honors GPA weighting. This course will take the English 1 End of Course Exam at the end of the school year, which will count as 20% of the final grade for the class.

PREREQUISITES: District Criteria, including eighth grade teacher recommendation.
