All About Me

I am excited to be working as a Literacy Specialist at Bell’s Crossing Elementary School for the 2024-2025 school year . I have been an educator for 28 years and have been at Bell's Crossing for 18 years.

I am a graduate of Buffalo State College in New York where I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education and a Master’s of Science Degree in Reading Instruction. I also have Literacy Teacher and Reading Coaching endorsements.

I taught children with special needs in N.Y. for 5 years until my son Joshua and daughter Rachel were born and then was a stay at home mom for several years.

We moved to beautiful Greenville, South Carolina in 1995 and in 1997 I began teaching 1st grade in the Greenville County School System.

In October of 2001, we welcomed our precious daughter Haley Liang into our family and I stayed at home with Haley until she entered kindergarten at Bells in 2005. In 2005, I became a special education resource teacher at Bell’s Crossing Elementary School and for the last eight years, I have been a Reading Interventionist and Literacy Specialist at Bell’s. I have enjoyed all of my varied teaching experiences in the past 27 years of teaching!

As a Literacy Specialist, I hope to provide meaningful and authentic literacy experiences for all students. My wish is to nurture each child's passion for lifelong literacy learning and create an environment for each student to reach their full potential in all areas of literacy development!
