The Solo and Ensemble Festival provides students the opportunity to perform before an adjudicator. The adjudicator provides a written and verbal critique of the performance and awards a rating based on defined criteria. There is also a chance for high school students to participate in a scholarship competition during their senior year. Solo and Ensemble Festival is open to both middle school and high school programs. If you express an interest, I will suggest the song that you will sing.

Ratings for each performance are as follows: I-Superior, II-Excellent, III-Good, IV Below Average, V-Poor. Plus or minus may be added to the score. Standard vocal literature is required. It is suggested that teachers choose good repertoire and avoid pop songs, show tunes, hymns, or contemporary Christian selections

The Varsity Women’s Ensemble will be required to sing as an ensemble in this State Festival. If you would like to participate as a soloist, please fill out the form below. There is a $10 fee for all soloists due by September 15th. Please check your calendars and make sure that you will be available. No refunds will be given after November. Once you receive your performance time, you will be responsible for your own transportation to this event. (members of the women’s ensemble also)
