About Me
I grew up in Seneca, SC, went to Presbyterian College, and have always loved anything that had to do with music. The first instrument I learned was the violin, and since then, I've loved learning how to play countless others and always participating in something musical. My primary instrument is the Viola, but I also love playing percussion, singing, and more!
My favorite thing about teaching Orchestra is helping students find their own passion in music and accomplish their goals. I look forward to the moments when the students are excited about what they can do, and I always strive to create an environment where all students feel that they belong. This will be my 4th year teaching at GMA and 13th year overall teaching Orchestra. I've taught 5th-12th grade Orchestra classes and can honestly say I love teaching middle school the most!
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our pets, crafting, doing something outdoors, and even playing board games and some video games! This summer, I spent a lot of time at the Greenville County Library checking out multiple non-fiction books, rediscovering my love for reading and learning!
