Calculation of Grades: Grades will be calculated through teacher observation, anecdotal notes, writing samples, guided reading groups, checklists, unit math assessments, AIMSweb, project-based learning, classroom performance and participation.

Report Card Skill Key: Kindergarten students will only receive a letter grade -

M=The student consistently meets or exceeds end-of-year expectations for this standard.

P=The student shows expected growth/progress in meeting end-of-year standard.

B=The student is beginning to progress toward end-of-year standard.

N-The student needs intensive support at school and home to develop this end-of-year standard.

If left blank, this standard was not addressed or assessed during this reporting period.


Math Assessment (Fall & Spring)

FastBridge (Fall, Winter, & Spring)- This assessment tests for fluency. At the end of the school year, students should be reading a minimum of 60 words per minute.

Kindergarten Readiness Assessment - KRA2 (Fall & Spring)- At the end of the school year, students should be reading level D or higher.

Homework Policy: Homework is assigned at the beginning of each week. Students must complete and return the designated number of activities by the end of each school week. Homework is reviewed for understanding and checked for completion.
