Hi! I’m Mr. Gagnon (say it like Gone-yo), and I’m your ESOL teacher. I’ve been teaching for over 21 years, and I work mostly with high school students who already know some English and are ready to grow even more.

I was born in French Canada and came to the U.S. as an immigrant, so I understand what it’s like to learn a new language and adjust to a new place. I speak a little French and I’m learning Spanish — slowly but surely!

I have a degree in Social Science, a Master’s in Educational Leadership, and I’m currently working on my ESOL certification and a second Master’s focused on helping language learners.

I love helping students become confident in English, succeed in school, and feel proud of who they are. When I’m not teaching, I’m spending time with my wife and four daughters or watching the 49ers!

¡Hola! Soy Mr. Gagnon (se pronuncia Gone-yo) y soy el maestro de ESOL. Tengo más de 21 años de experiencia como maestro, y trabajo con estudiantes de secundaria que ya saben algo de inglés y quieren mejorar más.

Nací en el este de Canadá y vine a Estados Unidos como inmigrante, así que entiendo lo que se siente aprender un nuevo idioma y empezar en un lugar diferente. Hablo un poco de francés y ahora estoy aprendiendo español.

Tengo una licenciatura en Ciencias Sociales y una maestría en Liderazgo Educativo. Actualmente, estoy estudiando para obtener mi certificación ESOL y otra maestría en ese campo.

Me gusta ayudar a los estudiantes a ganar confianza, mejorar su inglés y sentirse orgullosos de quiénes son. Cuando no estoy enseñando, paso tiempo con mi esposa y mis cuatro hijas, o estoy viendo a mi equipo favorito: los 49ers de San Francisco.
