This is my 28th year in education and my 1st year at Slater Marietta Elementary, where I currently serve as the Literacy Coach. I am excited to join such a wonderful school! I was previously an Instructional Coach for 9 years, taught Kindergarten for 14 years, 1st grade for 2 years, and worked as an Interventionist. I earned my B.S. in Early Childhood Development from East Tennessee State University and my Master’s in Elementary Reading and Literacy from Walden University. I’m a National Board Certified Teacher (2002, 2011, 2022) and am Highly Qualified in Early Childhood and Elementary Reading. I’m passionate about supporting both teachers and students in their growth.

Outside of school, I enjoy reading, being outdoors, going to the beach, and spending time with my family. My husband, Phil, and I have two amazing children. Bryson is a junior at the University of South Carolina, and Riley is currently in 10th grade. They are truly my heart!
