Welcome new students!

The J. Harley Bonds Culinary Arts Program is a two year program divided into four semesters. Students have the opportunity to earn up to 6 college credit hours (four classes!) through our articulation with Greenville Technical College. Additionally, students can earn the ServSafe Food Manager's Certification, as well as the ProStart Certificate of Achievement. In addition to learning basic culinary arts skills, students will learn about the marketing and management aspect of the hospitality industry, including hotel management, travel and tourism, resorts, and casinos. This curriculum is taught at many four year universities, and the Greenville Tech credit can be transferred to those institutions.

Students will also become members of SkillsUSA, a student organization that promotes workplace professionalism, ethics, soft skills, and an appreciation of global workplace diversity. Students can enter competitions in the respective disciplines and compete at state, national, and international levels and have the chance to earn college scholarships. Another competition, related directly to the hospitality industry, is sponsored by ProStart. The ProStart competition consists of two categories: Management and Culinary Arts. Students must develop a business proposal for a prospective restaurant and present before a panel of industry professionals. The culinary event is a one hour team endeavor where the students prepare a three course meal using only camp stoves. Are you ready to get cooking?
