About Duncan
While attending Newberry College, I remember wondering what I really wanted to do with my life. It was the Christmas break of my freshman year when the answer came. I was listening to a radio story about a student who had been abused by a relative. I thought that perhaps if someone had been able to be there for that student... to listen... and to report the abuse to authorities earlier, then perhaps this horrible incident would have never happened.
That's when I made the decision to be a teacher. Nothing could be more honorable and noteworthy than helping our young people understand the value of an education as well as becoming responsible participants in our community. This is how I wanted to make a difference.
