About Me

I am a native of Greenville County. I graduated from Berea High School in 1992. After graduation, I went into the United States Air Force as a flightline aircraft maintenance technician on turbofan cargo transports.  During my time in service, I took part in operations in Somalia, Rwanda, Haiti, and Bosnia.  I was stationed in Germany, Puerto Rico, Illinois, and Texas for a brief period of time as well.

After honorably serving my country for four years, I left the Air Force and decided to begin my college career at Greenville Technical College.  I obtained my Associate's Degree in Business Management at GTC in 1999. Then, I turned my focus to obtaining a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in Social Sciences from the University of South Carolina-Spartanburg (now the University of South Carolina-Upstate).  I obtained this degree in 2002.  Feeling the need to share what I have learned and to help prepare the younger generations of our society for the challenges of life, I decided to pursue a career in education.  In the Summer of 2006, I obtained my Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Converse College.  This degree consists of initial certification in secondary social studies education. I am currently certified in the State of South Carolina in secondary and middle social studies and business education with the designation of "highly qualified."

I am happily married and a father.  My wife, Margie,  has a MAT degree with initial certification in Special Education--Learning Disabilities. We have one daughter (a very active daughter), Gracie, who is in ninth grade and will turn fifteen in December. In addition, we have two very lazy cats at home.  My hobbies consist of reading, spending time with family, being active in church, and watching sports (especially football). This is my eighteenth year of teaching, and I look forward to a successful year!
