About Me

I became the Instruction Coach at Greer High in the fall of 2008. For two years prior to coming to GHS, I served as an ADEPT Teacher Leader with GCSD. Before that I taught at Greer Middle for twenty-seven years. I have also taught in York County, Berkeley County, and Chester County. I have a Masters in Education from Converse College and a Bachelor of Arts in history from Winthrop University.

My husband and I have three children and two granddaughters. Our daughter is an attorney in New York City, our older son is a technician with AT&T, (his wife is a 1st grade teacher at Mt. View Elementary), and our younger son is the Director, Transaction Accounting at SoftBank Group International in Miami. My older granddaughter is a sophomore in college and the younger one is in the 9th grade.

I love learning. This has taken me on many adventures. On the district level, I have taught Intel 1 and 2, A.L.I.V.E., Promethean Activinspire, Google, and presented at Upstate Technology Conference, Summer Acadamy, as well as multiple state/local level conferences. I have been a Verizon Thinkfinity teacher, member of the advisory panel for TeachersFirst, and on the leadership team for SC GEG (Google Educators Group). Over the past years I learned about Islam by spending 10 days at Dar al Islam in Abiqui, New Mexico and about the Stock Exchange during a week studying at the New York Stock Exchange.
