About Me
Thank you for visiting my website! My name is Jayson Aviles. This is my 18th year teaching in Greenville County Schools, and my second here at Fountain Inn High! I spent my beginning years teaching in Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties in beautiful South Florida, where I grew up.
I was born in Puerto Rico and moved to Homestead, FL when I was young. I then moved to South Miami Heights. I experienced Hurricane Andrew during middle school. I graduated from Miami Southridge Senior High, Home of the Mighty Spartans. I have been playing music in bands and other venues for about 10 years, then stopped when I got admitted to Florida International University. I graduated from F.I.U. with a B.S. in E.S.E. (V.E.), or in other words, Exceptional Student Education with a concentration in Varying Exceptionalities. That translates into Multi-Categorical Special Education in the state of South Carolina. I also have completed my Masters in Educational Technology from Lesley University located in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
I married my high school sweetheart. We have a beautiful daughter named Naomi who is interested in cultural anthropology and Christian literature and an energetic son named Nathaniel who loves board games, sports, Apex Legends, and table tennis. I love playing board games and watching/playing sports. I am an avid Miami fan, no matter where I go (a real fan). I am also a Nationally Ranked Table Tennis player, thanks to my days at F.I.U.! My hobbies include investing in other people, making music (self-taught music production), chess, and PC online gaming.
I look forward to living life with my students as we navigate through adolescence and adulthood. I strive to give them meaningful and fun experiences as we learn to be the best we can be, inside and outside the classroom!
