Per South Carolina Legislative Act 94, eleventh graders (defined by the 9GR Code of 9GR18 or students who entered ninth grade in the 2017-2018 school year) in Greenville County will have the opportunity to take the SAT® OR the ACT® assessment during the school day OR opt out of taking either exam. All students in the eleventh grade are required to be offered the opportunity to test with the exception of those who qualify for the South Carolina Alternative Assessment. Participation includes students served in alternative settings and those enrolled in the Greenville County Home School Association (GCHSA) program. In compliance with Act 94, procedures have been developed by the district to assist schools in obtaining and recording parents’/students’ choices and ordering materials for the test administration.
Test Schedule:
English (45 minutes) - 75 multiple-choice test items
Math (60 minutes) - 60 multiple-choice test items
Reading (35 minutes) - 40 multiple-choice test items
Science (35 minutes) - 40 multiple-choice test items

Taking the ACT contains important policy information that examinees need to know for test day. It also contains instructions for completing the non-test portions of the answer document.
