The fifth year teaching English for Multilingual Learners
My name is Irina Johnson, and I’m super excited to teach English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) this year at Wade Hampton High School.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching English and a Master’s Degree in Linguistics. I have been teaching English to Multilingual Learners in various places, including Russia and the United States.
I moved to the U.S. in 2008. For the last fourteen years, my husband, our children, and I have lived in Greenville and absolutely love it. In my free time, I enjoy game nights, hiking, and reading.
My main goals in teaching Multilingual Learners are to build trust with my students so they can gain confidence in themselves and the language, and to patiently guide them to help achieve their academic and personal goals.
I believe it’s going to be a great school year!
