I am so excited about teaching at Blythe Academy of Languages! I love Greenville, South Carolina, and the people who call it home!
I have a wonderful husband named Doug who I've had the privilege of being married to for almost 37 years. Together we have four children. Our oldest son, Matthew, and his wife, Cally, and two children, Norah and Micah, live in Deland, Florida, where Matthew teaches finance at the university level. Our middle sons, Ben and Paul, both live near us in the Greer area. Ben works as a civil engineer and Paul is a Parts Specialist for Auto Zone. Our youngest, Janna (pictured in a traditional Russian dress) hails from Southern Russia and currently lives in Indiana, where she works as a child and family counselor. We also have a yellow labrador, named Remi, and an gray tortoise-shell tabby cat, named Spazzimoto.
In my free time, I enjoy sewing, quilting, designing interior spaces, bike riding, and traveling. You might find Doug and me riding around the Blue Ridge on our tandem bicycle or heading up into the mountains from there. In the last few years, I've had the opportunity to travel in Europe (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, Hungary, Italy, and Greece) as well as in Peru, where I got to visit friends and see Machu Picchu! This year, I was privileged to be able to travel in Germany, Austria, and Hungary! I love to travel, near and far, and particularly enjoy getting to know people and their cultures!
