About Me

Originally from North Carolina, I am a graduate of Concord High School and earned my Bachelors degree in Music Education from Western Carolina University in 2000 followed by my Master's in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University in 2011. While in North Carolina I served as Director of Bands at Cherryville HS and Central Cabarrus HS. After relocating to Florida for several years I was Associate Director of Bands at North Fort Myers HS of Arts and Media. This is my 13th year teaching in Greenville County, my 11th year at Hughes Academy and my 22nd year of teaching.

I have held ensemble membership in the Clarion Brass Ensemble, WCU Wind Ensemble, UNCC Concert Band. As a trumpet soloist I performed a variety of wedding engagements and special events across the southeast. Other professional experiences include membership in Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps in 1993 and Carolina Gold Drum and Bugle Corps in 2002-2003.

I often creative projects with wood and metal and I also enjoy mountain biking. I live in Simpsonville with my wife Jennifer, one dog and three cats.
