Magnet Applications - HOW DO I APPLY TO HUGHES ACADEMY?
Magnet Applications for the 2026-2027 school year will be available on November 10, 2025 at 8:00 am. This date starts off round 1. Round 1 is from 11/10/25 to 11/25/25 at 4:00 pm. Applications will be available during the six magnet rounds. See the link below.
When you apply for the magnet program, please make sure you carefully read the Magnet Academies FAQs and the Magnet Application Procedures BEFORE starting your magnet application and then follow all procedures with submitting it! If these procedures are not followed, then we will be unable to process the magnet application! Additionally, please submit your magnet application only once and do not wait until the last second to submit your magnet application!
Parents/Guardians will apply to Magnet School through PARENT BACKPACK.
Greenville County Schools is excited that online magnet applications are available on the Parent Backpack Portal. Parents must apply online through their backpack account. To access the online version of the magnet application, parents should login into their PARENT BACKPACK ACCOUNT. Parents of students outside of Greenville County Schools can create a new user account for the purpose of applying to a magnet program at The Greenville County Schools Magnet Academies Page.
Once in their backpack account, parents will . . .
Select "Programs" from the column on the left.
Select "Apply to a Program."
Available programs will show on the screen.
Select "Apply" beside Magnet Academies to begin the magnet application process.
Parents will be able to apply for multiple magnet academies in the online system, but they will only be able to submit the magnet application once.
Parents should make sure to select all magnet academies for which their student desires to apply and complete all sections of the magnet application before selecting submit.
