Weekly Update

5th Grade Families,

Our first week was so smooth! We focused on classroom and school expectations. We also started our math unit "Math Is". We talked about our math stories (the way we understand math) and how we have math all around us. 

Agenda

 I check your child's agenda each morning for parent communication and  each afternoon to make sure they have copied homework/ reminders into their planner. We will use agendas to communicate about your child's behavior. 

Open House Night

Our open house/ curriculum night is August 20,2026.

Challenge  6:30

A FREE pizza dinner will be offered to all those who attend.  Curriculum Night is intended for parents only. If, however, you do not have childcare for that night, you are welcome to bring your Oakview students with you to this event. They can attend the parent sessions along with you.

Meal Time: 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM

Meal Includes: 2 slices of pizza, fruit, dessert, drink

Upcoming Dates: 

September 7: Labor Day - NO SCHOOL

September 8: Barrier Island Chaperone Interest meeting 6PM

Parents may begin visiting their childern during lunch (our lunch 11:35-12:00)
