My name is Heather Herrin and I teach 4th and 5th grade challenge at Monarch. I am originally from Atlanta, Georgia. I attended Georgia State University where I earned my degree in Early Childhood Education. I then earned my Master's degree in Educational Psychology with a concentration in Gifted and Creative Education from the University of Georgia. I taught in Atlanta for 10 years, and this will be my 8th year teaching Challenge at Monarch Elementary.
I have been married to my husband, Wade, for 27 years. We have a daughter, Laurel, who just graduated from the College of Charleston, and one lake-loving dog named Blue. In my spare time I love to read, crochet, bake bread, and spend time with my family at the lake.
Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions or concerns about Challenge. I am committed to providing students with a fun, interactive, and productive year. I look forward to working with you and your child this year!
