Hello! My name is Sara Harris, and I am excited to be your child's 2nd grade teacher! I have been teaching for 21 years. This will be my 5th year at Rudolph Gordon School, and my 12th year in Greenville County. In my teaching career, I have taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 7th grades. I have also been a reading interventionist and literacy specialist. Prior to teaching in South Carolina, I lived in Washington state and taught elementary students in public, private, and Montessori schools.
My degree is in Elementary Education and I have a Master's degree in school counseling, both from Washington State University (Go Cougs!) I have endorsements in early childhood, middle level ELA, Gifted and Talented education, and literacy teaching/coaching. I grew up north of Seattle. My husband Ben and I have been married for 21 years, and we have 3 children. Sam is 20 and attends Clemson University. Bella is 18 and attends Anderson University. Charlie is 16 and a junior at Woodmont High School. As a family, we enjoy camping, the beach, spending time with family and friends. We also have a dog, Ellie, who is a special part of our family!
Some of my favorite things are:
Coffee from Exchange Co., reading books from our awesome public library or M.Judson Booksellers, taking walks, the color yellow, Flair pens, sewing, doing puzzles, going to the lake and beach, lighting a beautiful candle, or shopping at Pink Owl, Rustic & Refined, or Swanky Steer.
