We review these expectations daily!
Our daily affirmations!
In our classroom we create our rules and expectations together at the beginning of the year, so all students are aware of the expectations.
We are respectful of others and of our school supplies.
We are kind and keep our hands to ourselves.
We have a safe body and are not harming ourselves or others.
We raise our hand and do not shout out.
We have a positive attitude and are ready to learn!
All students have access to the bathroom and water in the classroom!
<-- The following consequences in order are applied when the expecations are not followed.
In our classroom, we believe that mistakes are opportunities to learn and grow. We practice our classroom expectations every day and spend lots of time learning, reviewing, and modeling what respectful, responsible behavior looks like.
Because my students are first graders, I understand that they are still learning. I offer reminders, guidance, and multiple opportunities to make better choices before a behavior becomes a concern. My goal is always to teach, encourage, and support each child as they grow.
If I reach out to you regarding your child's behavior, please know that it is not because of a one-time mistake. It means we have already worked together in the classroom through repeated reminders, discussions, and practice, and I believe partnering with you will help your child be successful.
