2025-2026 Behavior Management Plan
Mrs. Hairston – Reading Intervention
Students will receive positive feedback, verbal praise, and high fives as they work. I reward students for quickly following directions, staying on task, giving their best effort, and being respectful. Students also have opportunities to earn special recognition certificates and stickers. If your child tries their best, they may earn a small treat at the end of class. I also use a Treasure Box incentive for positive behavior 4 out of 5 days in each week. I am always looking for ways to encourage your child. All expectations and consequences will be explained to my students. We will work together to maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment.
Rules
1. We listen when others are speaking.
2. We use kind words.
3. We keep our hands and feet off of others.
4. We work hard and do our best.
5. Walking in the hall we are quiet and stay together on the colored tiles path.
Consequences
1. A reminder of the rule that is broken.
2. Breaking the same rule, I ask the student the rule. I tell them that I am sure they can do better.
3. Third time, no reward at the end of class.
If the misbehavior continues…
1. The student will sit across the room in a chair for 2 minutes.
2. The classroom teacher is notified and a note is sent home alerting parents of the behavior.
3. A phone call to parents.
4. The student will meet with administration.
5. A conference with the student, parents, administration, and Mrs. Hairston.
