Welcome to Mr. Toney’s Class
Hi! My name is Drew Toney, and I’m the 3rd–5th Grade Special Education teacher at Westcliffe Elementary. This is my 18th year teaching, and I’m excited to work with students and families in a role focused on supporting behavior, academics, and social-emotional growth.
Before teaching, I served 5 years in the U.S. Army. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Columbia College of Missouri, along with a Master of Education in Adult Education and a Master of Arts in Teaching in Special Education from Georgia Southern University.
I'm married and have four children, including a son with Down syndrome. That experience has shaped how I approach special education—with a strong commitment to working alongside families and supporting students in meaningful, practical ways.
Outside of school, I enjoy weightlifting, reading, writing, and spending time with my family. In our classroom, you can expect clear routines, movement-based learning, and a focus on helping students grow both academically and behaviorally.
Thanks for visiting the class site—I’m looking forward to a great year.
