Summer Film Program
June 8-11, 2026

AM Session: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. – This session is for middle school students who desire to improve their fundamentals under the guidance of our teaching artists. Students who are entering grades 7 and 8 may participate.

PM Session: 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. – This session is for high school students who will work with our teaching artists on sharpening and refining their already present skills.

This high school filmmaking course in Greenville, SC introduces students to the creative and technical foundations of the motion picture industry. Students explore every stage of digital film production, including screenwriting, producing, directing, lighting, cinematography, sound recording, and video editing.

Instruction combines lecture-based learning, film analysis and critique, and hands-on production projects. Students regularly evaluate professional films as well as the work of their classmates, helping them develop both technical proficiency and critical thinking skills. This approach encourages students to think abstractly, creatively, and conceptually—skills that transfer across academic and career paths.

In addition to film aesthetics and storytelling, students gain experience with industry-standard software, including Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, GarageBand, Final Draft, and other digital media tools used in professional filmmaking and media production.
