Your Jackets Library Staff

Hi, GMS Family! I'm Michelle Higdon and I'll be the Media Specialist in the Jackets Library for 2023-2024. This will be my fourth year in the library! I taught 6th grade Social Studies for 4 years and I taught 7th grade Social Studies for the 3 years prior to that - all at Greer Middle. I've also sponsored the Beta Club for the last 5 years. I also graduated from Greer Middle and Greer High "back in the day." You could say that my blood runs black and gold!

I obtained my Library Media Specialist Certification from Marshall University (Go Thundering Herd!), my Masters of Education from Anderson University (Go Trojans!) and my Bachelors from North Greenville University (Go Crusaders!). 

I am very excited to bring my passion for reading and literacy to the library! I have lots of book suggestions and am always looking to help middle schoolers find their next favorite read so I look forward to seeing your students in the Jackets Library!

Welcome back, Yellow Jackets! I'm Amy Jackson, and I have worked at Greer Middle School as the Media Clerk for the past ten years. In those ten years, I've helped hundreds of students find the right book. I am excited to work with Ms. Higdon to include new ideas and programs to get everyone excited to visit our library. I can't wait to get the school hooked on reading as the library becomes a favorite daily destination where reading excites, and the imagination can run wild!
