Reminders

Listed below are a few reminders to help you and your student have a pleasant and rewarding experience here at Greenville Middle Academy.

• • Students should be in their 1st Period Class by 8:30 AM. Attendance is taken in every class, including Homeroom/Advisory

  • School is dismissed at 3:15 pm – students should be picked up no later than 3:45 pm.

  • A parent must send a note for ALL absences. In addition to requiring a note for all absences, you are also required to provide notes for all early dismissals and late arrivals. Failure to do so will result in an automatic unexcused absence for any missed periods.

  • A parent must submit a note the morning of any early dismissal. The parent or guardian will be required to come into the office to sign the dismissal slip. If anyone other than the parent or guardian picks up the student, identification will be necessary before the student is permitted to leave, and they must be included in the student file as an authorized contact, or named in the Parent Note.

Note: Early Dismissals should be done prior to 2:30 PM.

• • All notes must be turned into the attendance clerk within 2 days of the absence.

  • Parent notes should include the student's legal first & last name, dates missed, and the reason for the absence.

  • In order to be eligible for Perfect Attendance, students must be present in ALL periods and not miss more than 50% of any class.

  • Students must be present a minimum of 3 hours in a school day in order to be counted present for that school day. Students not present for at least 3 hours will be counted absent for the day and a note will be required.
