My name is Matthew Giacalone and I am thrilled to be teaching both World Civilizations and World Geography at Charles Townes Center. I have earned an BA degree in Geography, an MS degree in Environmental Sciences, and an MAT degree in middle level education and entered the teaching profession after a career working as a hydrogeologist and environmental scientist. I am now in my 10th year of teaching and LOVE IT!
In my time away from school I enjoy playing pickleball, playing and coaching soccer, hiking, and going to see/listening to music. I am an avid Liverpool FC fan!!
I look forward to teaching your scholars about the our world and exploring together the why and how to came together the way that it did. I love looking at the world and understanding its physical wonders and social interactions and will work to show your scholar just how exciting the practices and principles we learn are.
