Sections of the Report
1. Overall Achievement Level
**At the top of the report, you’ll see your Overall Achievement Level. This level ranges from Level 1 to Level 4, using the same categories as the SC READY assessment.
Level 1 means you are currently not meeting grade-level expectations yet.
Level 2 means you are approaching expectations.
Level 3 means you are meeting expectations and are proficient
Level 4 means you are exceeding expectations of proficiency
This level is based on how you performed on the assessment when compared to other students at your grade level and the statewide expectations for each subject level
2. Reporting Category Results
Next, the report shows how you performed on specific standards or skills. Each subgroup is a grade level standard that is paired with a score using the same SC Ready Achievement Levels used on your overall academic achievement level. This section reflects your performance on the standards taught this year and how that performance aligns with statewide expectations.
3. Depth of Knowledge
On the right side of the report, you’ll see a Depth of Knowledge section. Depth of Knowledge is a way to describe how much thinking a question or task needs. It’s not about how hard something is—it's about how deeply you have to think to solve it.
DOK 1 questions are recall-level tasks—basic facts or simple procedures.
DOK 2 questions require reasoning or using skills in a slightly new way.
DOK 3 questions involve strategic thinking, explaining reasoning, analyzing, or solving multi-step problems.
Once again, the SC Achievement Levels are used to indicate how you performed on questions across various Depth of Knowledge or DOK levels. These levels reflect the complexity of thinking required. The achievement levels help provide a clearer understanding of how well you demonstrated knowledge and skills at each level of cognitive demand. For example, if you received a score of 4 at the DOK 1 Achievement Level it would demonstrate that you exceed expectations on basic recall of concepts in that particular subject area compared to grade level peers in the state of South Carolina.
4. Proficiency Comparison
Let’s look at the Proficiency Comparison section of your report. This part helps us see how your performance on the assessment compares to the proficiency benchmark.
To reach the proficiency level that meets expectations, you needed to answer a certain number of questions correctly.
If the top number is bigger that the middle number. This tells us that you exceeded the number of questions needed to demonstrate a solid understanding of the skills and standards measured on this assessment. You will have a positive number on the bottom of your report telling how many questions above the proficiency cut off you answered.
If the top number is smaller than the middle number. This tells us that you did not meet expectations of proficiency on this assessment. You will have a negative number on the bottom of your report telling you how many additional questions you needed to answer to meet the cut off.
This report is not a final grade. It is a tool to help us monitor progress and support your learning. We will look at the next Predictive Assessment to see growth over time and adjust instruction as needed.
