Fun Activities for Graphing Points on a Coordinate Plane
Graph these points in order to create the picture of a much- beloved Fictional character.
The Coordinate Plane
Plot ordered pairs in all four quadrants of a coordinate plane.
Graph these points in order to create the picture of a much- beloved Fictional character.
Results: The activity, when completed, results in a graphic diagram as shown below.
In my Discrete Mathematics class, students analyze data and draw conclusions related to real-world problems.
In my Geometry class, my students work on a project titled "Height and Arm Span." They work in groups of three and use real measurements to measure themselves and create a data table. Then, they draw the line of best fit using Desmos Graphing Calculator and apply their actual height to the equation of the line to predict their arm span. They compare the predicted arm span with their actual arm span and draw conclusions. Additionally, they calculate the correlation coefficient and interpret its meaning in relation to their height and arm span.
In my Geometry class, my students engage in an activity called "Halloween Color Picture," where they apply their knowledge of academic topics such as parallel lines, transversals, and angle relationships.
In my Algebra 2 CP class, my students work on a coloring activity focused on the topic: solving quadratic equations using factoring.
In all my classes, we use the Blooket app to practice and reinforce the content.
My students work in small groups to collaborate and benefit from each other. I circulate the room to provide scaffolding, ensure they stay on task, and support their progress.
