About Me

My name is Matthew Giacalone and I am thrilled to be teaching science at Beck Academy.  I have earned an MS degree in Environmental Sciences and an MAT degree in middle level education and entered the teaching profession after a career working as a hydrogeologist and environmental scientist.  I am in my 9th year of teaching and LOVE IT!

In my time away from school I enjoy playing pickleball and soccer, hiking, and going to see/listening to music.  I am an avid Liverpool FC fan!!

I look forward to teaching your scholars about scientific principles and how to apply those concepts to the world around them.  I love science and will work to show your scholar just how exciting the practices and principles we learn are.
