How can I find my student's present levels?

What is the difference between accommodation and modifications?

In very basic terms, accommodations allow a student to learn the same material, but in a different way. Examples of this would be allowing a student to use a computer to write their exams instead of with a paper and pencil. Or, reading a test aloud to a student. Another accommodation is allowing for extra time or taking a test in a small group setting. The content is the same but the delivery or setting is accommodated to the students needs. Modifications change the content of what a student is taught or expected to produce. Examples of this would be providing alternate tests, tests with answers crossed out or allowing students to give answers in the form or a drawing instead of a paragraph. Modifications are allowed because we need to be sure that language is not a barrier to students accessing content or showing what they know.

What are the differences between ESOL and SPED accommodations?
