Art Room Cell Phone Policy
In my studio, students are allowed to use cell phones for several things, including taking photographs of their own artwork, researching artists and art techniques, uploading work to Google Classroom, and even listening to their own music at appropriate times. However, cell phones will still be regulated and consequences will be provided for those that choose to misuse their device in class. Misuses will be, but are not limited to, the following: listening to music during lecture times, putting both earbuds in when listening to music at appropriate times, texting/talking/messaging of any kind, game playing, and more.
Offense 1: warning
Offense 2: phone stays on my desk for the remainder of class (and/or next class if there is less than 30 minutes in class; email home
Offense 3: lunch detention; phone stays on my desk for the remainder of class (and/or next class if there is less than 30 minutes in class; email home
Offense 4: referral; no more phone use in my class; email home
