Hey, Hi, and Howdy!
My name is Cat Reynolds and this is my second year teaching at Southside High School. I truly love being a tiger and I'm super excited to meet you and hear your stories! I'm originally from Greensboro, North Carolina (though the area I grew up in is known as Possum Holler... funny, I know).
This year, I'll be teaching English 1 CP and Honors, as well as IB Lit 1. I think it's going to be a great year!
My drive to teach centers on my desire to show every student they have a purpose and a voice that deserves to be heard! I have a passion for understanding the world around me through the voices of authors, and I'm so excited to share that passion for exploration with you.
A Little About Ms. Rey:
I love a busy schedule and I hate monotony (which you'll probably notice throughout your time in my class). During the school year, you can find me at sporting or fine arts events, hanging out with the other English teachers here at SHS, or serving with Beta Club.
In my "down time," I enjoy chilling at home with my roommates and our cats. I love game nights with friends (especially when Mario Kart is involved...) because I'm EXTREMELY competitive. I'm also a fan of a good book, a sunny day, and any outdoor activity.
Sometimes I dabble in writing. Fun fact: I was a staff writer for a literary magazine in college; I wrote in the poetry collection and it was SO much fun! One of my biggest dreams is to be a published author, though I struggle to finish anything... maybe that's why I like poetry ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
