Originally from Columbia, SC, I graduated in 2001 from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Textile Management. After spending several years in various textile mills around upstate South Carolina and western North Carolina, I made a decision to quit the industry and go back to Anderson University for my Art Education certification. For 7 years I taught at Fairforest Middle School in Spartanburg District 6 and, though I loved my school and my students, I decided to make the switch to Greenville County in order to be closer to home and my children. I taught at Blue Ridge High School for 7 years, where I helped grow the art department to 2 teachers, allowing us to introduce AP Art and Design as well as Advanced Ceramics. The job opening at the Hamp, however, gets me even closer to my children and home as they will one day be Generals themselves. I am so excited to be at the school where I will remain for the duration of my career. Go Gens!!
