Who is Mrs. Martin?

Welcome to Bryson Middle School 8th grade math & Algebra 1. I am Mrs. Martin, and I am looking forward to getting to know and work with your child this school year. I am a graduate of the NC Teaching Fellows Program at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC, with a major in Middle School Math & Science Education (grades 6-9).

Since graduation, I have continued my professional pursuits by receiving my Master's Degree in Leadership of Educational Organizations and also receiving my National Board Certification in Middle School Mathematics.

I am currently in my twentieth year of teaching. In those twenty years, I have taught seventh grade math & science, 8th grade math/Algebra 1, and 9th grade Algebra 1/Geometry. Needless to say, I am well versed in multiple math curricula from Connected Math, Saxon Math, Traditional Math and Algebra 1, to Integrated Math.

As an eighth grade teacher at Bryson Middle School, my various teaching experiences have given me an advantage because, not only have I gained insight as to where students have been, but also where they are going.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, traveling, hiking, working and playing in the yard, etc. I have two boys who are also in the Greenville County School System and they keep me on my toes and young at heart.
