My name is Ray Tan. I’ve always enjoyed learning and understanding how things work. I grew up working on cars, stereos, computers and most anything else I could get my hands on and take apart. This is my first year teaching Mechatronics at Enoree Career Center but not my first year in the district. I taught high school math here in Greenville County for ten years, one year at Woodmont High and nine years at Hillcrest High. Between teaching stints I spent eight years working in college ministry. The last nine years I’ve been working as a Quality/Level 2 Technician at Circuit Board Medics, a company that does rework on circuit boards out of cars and appliances. My expanding family includes my wife Carly of 30 years, four kids, two daughters in-law and a granddaughter. For fun I enjoy coffee, cooking and playing ultimate frisbee.
