Welcome to Northwood Middle School!
I’m excited for the year ahead and look forward to working with your child. My goal is to help students build both a deeper understanding of mathematics and a genuine appreciation for the subject.
I believe students thrive when they take an active, responsible role in their own learning. This includes participating in class and helping maintain open communication between school and home.
Parental involvement plays a key role in student success. I encourage you to explore the textbook with your child and stay informed about the concepts we’re covering. Ask your child what we’re working on in class and take a look at their homework or notes. If you feel comfortable helping with assignments, your support is always appreciated. Just keep in mind that strategies taught at home may sometimes differ from those used in class, which can cause confusion. If your child is struggling, the best next step is often to encourage them to review their notes, ask questions in class, or connect with me directly for clarification. I’m always happy to help reinforce concepts in a consistent way.
Extra help is available upon request—it is the student’s responsibility to arrange a time with me.
