Do This First!

When you have an issue with your Chromebook do this first!

Home WiFi

Unfortunately, we are unable to troubleshoot most issues that may occur while using your Chromebooks with your home WiFi network and issues with printing from Chromebooks via a home printer. Please see the following suggestions and links that you may find helpful when using your Chromebook at home.

IMPORTANT!!

GCSD Authentication

Is your Chromebook connected to your network but you're unable to open any webpages online? Do not forget you have to authenticate when working on a school device away from school.

When students log into their Chromebooks at home, they will need to log into Greenville County School District's authentication system before being given access to any webpages online. To authenticate, students can select the padlock icon on the Chromebook's bottom toolbar (see image above).

Enter your student username and password and select the number of hours you will need for online access. To ensure you will not have to continue authenticating while working online choose the maximum number of hours (6).

Broken Chromebooks

Finally, if Chromebooks that are broken or fail to work properly must be taken to Dr. Kauffman's Office between 8:10 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. (ROAR Time) each school day.

Damage should be reported immediately. Students should not attempt repairs themselves or take the Chromebook to a third party vendor for repair.
