I was born and raised in western North Carolina, specifically in the little town of Rutherfordton. I have been a Tar Heel fan since birth and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for undergraduate and graduate school, where I received my Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Religious Studies and my Master of Arts in Teaching.
After graduating from UNC-CH, I moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where I spent eight years teaching Social Studies and coaching cheerleading.
In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my husband, Jim, our son, James, and our Boykin spaniel, Eddy, and baking, hiking, and traveling. In the spring of 2024, I graduated with my Doctorate in Professional Leadership from Converse University.
This year marks my seventh year at JL Mann. I am so happy to be here and excited for the 2026-2027 school year!
