Middle School  

Registration Timeline:

Fall :  

• Sixth grade students may apply to attend one of Greenville County's magnet programs, Beck, League, Hughes, or Greenville Middle Academy.

February:  

• Parents should ensure their address is up to date in Backpack so that their student is registered for the appropriate middle school.

• Elective worksheets are sent home and parents help students select elective courses. 

• Elective worksheets are returned to school and counselors help students register for classes. 

• Teachers enter student recommendations for their academic classes. 

• Students zoned for Mauldin Middle School or Hillcrest Middle School visit and learn more about their middle schools on a field trip with counselors. 

March:  

• Parents receive Student Request Letters to review what classes students are signed up for.

Summer: 

• Check your middle school's website to find the date for 6th grade orientation/"boot camp"! This is another opportunity for students to learn about and become more comfortable and familar with their middle school before the school year starts!
