All grades levels work on projects that use:
Elements of Art - line, shape, color, form, value, texture, and space
The Principals of Design - balance, rythym, contrast, movement, repitition, unity, pattern, proportion, and emphasis
Each project focuses on a different elements and principals.
All grade level use various techniques to create artwork - painting, drawing, collage, 3D forms.
All grade levels use a variety of materials - paint, markers, pencils (lead, and colored), scissors, glue, clay, cardboard, papier mache etc.
Most grade level will do projects to celebrate Hispanic Heritage, and Black History Month.
All grade levels create journals to draw and write reflections on their projects.Â
All grade levels create portfolios to store their art work.
All grade levels will create a holiday ornament, learn about symmetry by cutting snowflakes, and explore the Japanese craft of Origami.
