Cynthia Hughes, LAC, SAP, AADC, NCACII is a NAMA CAMS-III Authorized Supervisor. She is the owner and lead Clinician for Harmoni's Haven Counseling LLC. Cynthia has worked in substance abuse and mental health related fields for the last 10 years of her professional career and currently holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Experimental Psychology and Research. She is currently pursuing a Masters of Arts in Crisis and Trauma Management and Special Education. She has worked in management for most of her professional career in human services, which has included managing a female residential treatment program, working in a South Carolina maximum-security female prison as a lead therapist in a substance abuse treatment program, serving as an administrator designee at a residential program for the SC Department of Mental Health, supervising a DUI program for 5 years and managing a clinical assessment program. Cynthia also served on the advisory board for the ADSAP (alcohol and drug safety action program) for the state of South Carolina. She also provides clinical services as a Substance Abuse Professional through the Federal Clearing House and Department of Transportation for individuals who have tested positive for any illicit substances while working for the public safety and now works with clients who have been diagnosed with HIV or AIDs at a non profit organization called AID Upstate (SC). te
Cynthia started the process and is going through the GATE Program (Greenville Alternative Teacher Educator) Program starting in 2022. With my background in working with individuals with co-occuring disorders, addiction and other mental health conditions, I was approved to teach Speical Education. I started teaching 2nd thru 5th grade multicaterogorical class August of 2023. This is my 3rd year teaching Special Education.
Cynthia lives in the Greenville-Spartanburg, SC area where she enjoys traveling, spending time with her daughter (Harmoni) and family, singing and creative arts.
Mr. Lucas was born in Miami, Florida but has called Greenville home for over 30 years. He has been with Greenville County Schools since 2012 as a Social Studies teacher, an academic interventionist, and a SPED specialist in elementary, middle, and high school. Mr. Lucas lives with his wife Lori and their daughter Luna in Greenville and enjoys playing music, boating, and cooking.
