arents, here is some information for you to refer to as we move through the year--
Lake Forest Behavioral Norms
As a school we have worked to establish behavioral norms that will be expected of all students in all areas of the school. Below, you will see these behavioral norms that we will be teaching, modeling, and referring to throughout the school year. For more detailed information about what each of these norms look like in action, or if your child needs a refresher, be sure to check out the "Students" page of our class website! There, you will find the posters that are displayed in every classroom, as well as the slides we will be going through with all of our LFE Leopards!
1) Be safe.
2) Be kind.
3) Be engaged.
4) Be respectful.
Homework
I do not assign homework. There is lots of research that has determined that homework is not effective in elementary school, and is sometimes even detrimental. However, I do encourage you to read with your child for 20 minutes each night. Reading is an amazing way to increase reading/language skills, vocabulary, and build a love for reading. I would encourage you to get your child outside to play as much as possible after school!
