Welcome to my second grade class. I have been teaching at Paris Elementary for a really, really long time. I grew up here in Greenville.....I love the upstate of South Carolina. I attended wonderful Clemson University and received my Master's Degree from Francis Marion University. I have lived in other parts of S.C. and spent one interminable year in Florida (I don't want to talk about it).
I have three great children...Jason graduated from Clemson and received his Master's of Divinity from Wake Forest and he and his wife and crazy, adorable 5 year old daughter live on James Island. They are expecting my first grandson in December! Cathleen is a proud Clemson grad, a kindergarten teacher at Duncan Chapel and has a wonderfully entertaining 3 year old daughter, Charlotte, and a sweet, roly-poly one year old daughter, Mary Jenness. Jennifer, who is just thirteen months younger than Cathleen (yes, God has an incredible sense of humor), graduated from Clemson, taught high school Spanish, taught English in Ecuador, and is living in Greenville now, but may leave for a big city up north soon. Have you noticed anything here? Yes, all of the Craigs graduated from Clemson. It is not a requirement to be a Clemson fan if you are in my class.....unless you want to move on up to third grade. Orange is the preferred color. Or purple. Actually, I have a great time with those USC, Florida State, Georgia, UNC, yes, even Ga. Tech fans, who are in my class.
I absolutely love teaching. What could be better than spending my day with seven year olds? There is so much fascinating information out there to teach and learn. I expect us to have a fabulous time this year, learning all the interesting things there are to be learned in second grade. I always learn new things from my students, and I don't expect this year to be different. I am looking forward to working with the parents and students to make this the best year ever!
