Introduction to Engineering HONORS

Introduction to Engineering Design, as well as all other PLTW courses, utilizes activity-, problem-, and project-based learning to focus on making math and science important to students. By engaging in hands-on, real-world projects we help students understand how the material covered in class can be found in the products and processes that they surround themselves with every day. Learning in this class will include project- and problem-based instruction, creative thinking exercises, as well as teacher-led instruction. All students are expected to participate in all activities and projects, but a combination of some individual assignments and a heavy emphasis on team projects will be used as most engineers work as part of a team. Technology will enhance student learning, and allow them to model real-world applications and solutions.
