About the Teacher

Hi! I'm Cheri Owensby. I am excited to be teaching music at Simpsonville Elementary School. My background in the arts is varied between drama, classical vocal solo work, choral studies, and opera. I obtained a Bachelor of Music degree in voice performance from Shenandoah Conservatory in 1992, and a Masters degree in elementary education from Converse College in 1995. This will be my 25th year at Simpsonville, and my 31st in the district. I am also an active church musician, and spend time in the summer working with children at various summer arts camps. I am married and have two sons. I love to meet and greet people, so if you are at school, please stop by and say hello.
