About Miss Cooper

My name is Marie Cooper.  This is my 43rd  year teaching.  After teaching K4 and/or K5 for 34 years, I  moved to first grade 8 years ago. I look forward to another year in first grade.  

I grew up in Simpsonville and have lived in Taylors for 27 years. I graduated from Winthrop College with a degree in Early Childhood Education, and from Furman University with a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Special Education.  Having been raised in a family of teachers, I never had a desire to pursue any career other than teaching.  It is my calling, and I pledge to do my best in helping my students be successful in their academic experiences.  

Obvious from our class name and website images, I am a cat lover and have two furry friends of my own.  My other interests include gardening, working on house projects, reading, and spending time with family and friends. I love the mountains and the beach.   I am also active in my church.
