Greetings! My name is Emma Cooper and I am thrilled to be teaching English at Hughes Academy. I am from Easley, SC, and graduated from Furman University with a degree in English. I knew I wanted to teach, so I stayed at Furman a fifth year and received my Masters of Arts in Teaching. I student taught in several schools across Greenville County and also worked as a reading teacher for the Institute of Reading Development, teaching 4k through high school. Outside of school, I enjoy painting, spending time with friends and family, and, of course, reading. My (current) favorite book is The Horse and His Boy by C.S. Lewis. I am looking forward to a wonderful year ahead and am excited for what we will learn together.
